This two manual organ in historic English style was designed by Stephen
Bicknell while working for J.W.Walker & Sons Ltd. The consultant was Dr.
John Harper. The case is early eighteenth century, possibly by Christopher
Shrider, and originally stood in St. Mary Abbott's, Kensington. It was
acquired by Sir Thomas Jackson for Oriel College towards the end of the
nineteenth century. The internal construction of the organ is modern in
keeping with J.W.Walker's house style, but the scaling, construction and
voicing of the pipework reflects an earlier tradition.
